Episcopal Ordination of Mar. Pauly Kannookadan
Monsignor Pauly Kannookadan was consecrated bishop of the diocese of Irinjalakuda at a colourful ceremony at St. Thomas Cathedral on April 18 Sunday 2012. Outgoing Bishop Mar James Pazhayattil was the principal celebrant of the ceremonies. Thrissur Archbishop Mar Andrews Thazhath officiated the installation ceremony and Kottayam Archbishop Mar Mathew Moolakatt delivered the homely. The ceremony was attended by 35 bishops, thousands of believers, besides nuns and priests. The ceremonies began with the bishop-designate paying tributes to the holy apostolic relics. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Mar James Pazhayattil.
